Like SG Things To Do Today (a listing + concierge service) & Events Planning Sidekicks (a planning service for any type of event). & of course Events Sidekicks Youths (dedicated to all things youth + events).

Sometimes, while we try to give an equal amount of love to our these 3 ‘babies‘ of ours (you know, just like how parents do), we tend to sway & concentrate on one for just a brief moment of time.

But we still love them all the same.

So it’s no surprise then that during one of those brief moment of time, one of my friends (who’s been one of our Sidekicks too) asked me: Which One Do You Like The Most?

Gah! That’s like asking which hand do you like better, the right or left. Or asking what kind of ice-cream flavour you love the most – Chocolate or Caramel! How to choose!?

We love every part of everything & every event! There are so many likes that I think we cannot really pinpoint what we want to do the most.

One of the things that we really enjoy is Events Sidekicks Youth because it has 2 things we’re passionate about – Events Planning & Youths!

Of course, I have plenty more pictures to show you, but that will just flood this post! Still, the point is, I guess this is the most fulfilling out of the 3. It might not be immediately gratifying, but it’s just great that we’re able to impart a little bit of something-something to these youths!

And of course, another great thing about all 3 is we get to work with our Sidekicks.

So if you ask me Which One I Like The Most, I’ll just give you a shrug and tell you that it’s impossible to choose! But for now, I’m enjoying mixing with youths more !

Hey guys, it’s been a while since I’ve updated what’s happening with MUDD & NADD.

This update brings good news!

While doing our usual rounds around Singapore looking for interesting finds and cool things to do, we visited IOLA!

Two days ago I bumped into my long lost army mate Afiq! A short update at the traffic light (I know, cliché right?) about what’s happening in our lives, I found out that he is running a shop at 16 Haji Lane.

And I was like, “What the hell?!” (in a good way of course).

And this lead me to visit his shop the next day. Cosy place to hang out and Nadd can attest to that. We spent a good 3 hours chatting and catching up and trying on the clothes (well at least I did! hehe)

So what’s so special with IOLA?

IOLA Originals

If you have been following our adventures, I’m sure by now you’ve discovered that we love DIY-ing anything at any chance we get.  Why not, since DIY-ing is a great way to save money & add that customised touch to any event!

This time around, one of our recent projects was to decorate a children’s party according to a Dinosaur theme! & Go Dino-crazy we did!

To make sure there weren’t too many dinosaur stuff (because we don’t want to overkill the theme, yes?), we mostly used these extinct creatures as accessories.

Anyway, I must say, I enjoyed this project immensely (and not just because this involves cute kids) but it’s certainly fun to decorate, blow balloons & see the end product!

After that watching the kids Oooh-ing & Aah-ing and having fun with the balloons just made our Saturday!

Now we’re so looking forward to more (kid’s / anyone else for that matter ) parties! If you have a party that you need planned (or decorated), you know where to reach us!

This time round we up the ante. First, it was totally random. Like totally not planned. (Coz the first one was rather planned but the buses were random nonetheless!)

And secondly, we captured it on video! Add a little music to it and we have a short film documentary of our journey. The plot is the bus journey scenery and the different emotions we experienced! Enjoy!

So…. What’s up with us lately?

1. Post-picnic: Such a pity to stow the lovely basket away after the event. I just feel like putting it on display in a nice cabinet or something!

2. To get our energies up, we have constantly been keeping our stomachs filled with good (but cheap) food! Here’s a Tip: For your nightly cravings: Tanjong Pagar Railway Station!

3. The Mudd & Nadd Facebook Group now has 801 members! Yey, 199 more to 1000! (If you have not joined in yet – What are you waiting for! )

4. People have said that now we look like we lost weight! which means…all this walking paid off, woohoo!

5.  & the most fun  thing happened just last Saturday!

We  kicked off Events Sidekicks Youths & conducted a workshop for an enthusiastic bunch of ambassadors. Our first batch of Sidekicks, yey! We’re so excited & definitely cannot wait for the other training sessions with them!

Ahhh… the adrenaline rushes have been lovely.

Meanwhile, we have kept ourselves filled with information & lessons too – through watching videos of inspiring individuals & maestros! Here’s one for keepsakes!

So I met up the amazing duo at Yishun MRT. We then went down to Dhoby Ghaut to get food & a couple of other logistics.

1st thing we did was to order the food at  Kampung Jawa Timur afterwhich we went our separate ways: Nadd & myself to Carrefour whilst Mudd headed to Spotlight. This is where the fun starts!

Nadd & I spent too much time trying to get some chips & salsa deep + chilled drinks. &of all days, they  just had to run low on salsa dips that day! ($%@#$%#&&*%^) In the end we just grabbed a salsa +chips combo & 3bottles of drinks and went to meet Mudd who was already done with his shopping.

By then, it was almost 5pm!! God! Okay ,we decided to take a taxi there.

Oh! Did I tell you that we were carrying so much stuffs, we looked like tourists. He-He, Endurance baby! But I have to hand it to Mudd & Nadd as they were carrying massive amount of weight on their shoulders. It doesn’t help that there was a Thaipusam procession on that day. But luckily a kind taxi driver picked us up!

It took around 10 minutes to get to Marina Barrage.

Once there, we went in search for that perfect spot! After walking around for a while, we went up to the Green Roof.  It was windy & there were a lot of people flying their kites.  It was hazardous!!

I felt like I was walking through a war zone – at any moment on of the kites can lose its steam and plunge down & hit me on my head.  Scary!

So we found the Spot and started setting up.

Once the tables were set and pictures were taken. I proceed to help Mudd with the “Happy Birthday” sign. At first i was quite skeptical on whether the glowsticks thingy will work. But lo & behold it turned out GORGEOUS!!

By the time we are done, the Birthday-Boy has arrived!

Table was set, sign was up & we in hiding, the Birthday-Boy made his entrance with his Love on his arms. The look on his face was PRICELESS! & for that moment I can see the satisfied grins  on both Mudd&Nadd’s faces.

I too can’t help but feel proud -  after all that hard work, someone  appreaciates it. While the couple gets ermmm, couple-ly, we headed on to our very own spot & laze around watching the magnificient sight of flying kites with the wind in our faces.

Indeed it was a fantastic day & I hope to be given another chance to do it again!*hint hint*

In my opinion, event planning is actually very rewarding – the satisfaction you feel when everything falls into place & seeing the smiles on peoples’ faces is such a good feeling. Thank you Mudd&Nadd for that day.

It was truly inspiring & fun in more ways than one.

You go on a spontaneous picnic of course!

When our event got pushed back last Sunday, we didn’t want to waste the good weather & cake,  so we called up all our excitable friends and  set a new plan.  A flurry of calls & SMSes later, and we had the time & venue all set for our impromptu picnic!

Mudd even made DIY burgers for us to ensemble & eat (a great idea if you want a hassle-free picnic).  We lounged around just munching, talking & soaking in the relaxing atmosphere at Botanic Gardens. A great way to end the weekend.

We had loads of fun too!  See, the best moments can come from the most impromptu plan.

We got stuck in the middle of the expressway! Yes the expressway!

But it’s damn exciting!

We were on the way back from IKEA Tampines and boarded a bus to Woodlands Interchange. Halfway through the journey what seems to happen only to unlucky people happened to us! The bus was literally crawling its way down the expressway before it decided to die on us.

The heroic bus captain tried a few things to revived his dying vessel but to no avail. He even off the engine (which left us all in the dark in the middle of the expressway!) and turn it on again but still no sign of life.

So by virtue of the incredibly efficient transportation system that we have and which we have taken for granted at least once or twice before, another gentle giant (mind you, it was a double-decker bus) rumbled down beside his dying friend to our rescue. And all these happen within 10mins! Fast huh?! (This was possible to the efficient mayday call by the captain, which was audible all the way up the second deck where we were seated at.)

OK enough fairytale; lets get take the pictures do the talking!

Now its our turn!

So the morale of the story is (Tan Ah Teck style – If you don’t know who this is ask someone older to enlighten you) good or bad luck is how you perceived it. We were definitely the only 2 excited ones on the bus (hence, the picture taking)! In fact, we were rushing to catch the last train, but that didn’t cloud our judgment. So whether something is good or bad, it is subjective. And most time you can find good things in bad situations! (I’m seeing you nodding your head. Good Job!) :]

Oh! We got our bus fee waived plus a complimentary ticket for future bus ride too! Now isn’t that lucky!

P.P.S. And yes, we managed to catch the last train. :]

One thing that we realized is that walking gives us inspiration. Although we have been doing this ever since we started the business, we have come to a concrete conclusion that we love walking! (As compared to having our own transportation)

These are the reasons why we love walking,

1. We can to do it at our own pace
2. We can get to see interesting stuffs
3. We can just decide to cut through some buildings or back alley to explore further
4. We can have a pit stop at anytime and anywhere
5. Interesting finds are usually not by the roadside
6. We can have time to stop and snap a picture!
7. And if we are tired, we can just stop or take a bus for a nap!

And the reason we don’t fancy having our own transportation is simply,

1. It’s the same PIE, CTE, KJE, BKE, TPE, KPE! Boring…
2. And if you are a driver yourself, you would understand my sentiments when I say, driving in Singapore is like racing!!! Rush, rush, rush!
3. Driving is mentally draining.
4. You can’t stop anywhere. There’s this thing called a traffic light that controls you.
5. And driving usually involve from point A to point B. There’s not many chances you can go to point A.1, A.2, A.3, etc. Remember that once you are in the driver’s seat you are rush rush rush! haha
6. And it is definitely not inspirational at all.

But I have to admit, when we have events and we need to transport our stuffs, having a vehicle is very convenient. For that purpose, I would still settle for renting one. No headache on COE, Road Tax or Monthly Installments. As long as it’s economically viable to rent a vehicle, I think I shall stick to that for now.

Till then, see you on the streets! Remember, we are one short and one tall with backpacks. You can never miss us! :]

The latest mini-event -  A Slumber Party for 4 crazy ladies!
(& when I say crazy, I mean, really reaaaallly wacky!)

What did they do exactly? Well, let’s just say they (& their really cute pyjamas) tried their hand at customised witty games,  learnt plenty of new naughty things & toasted to their beginning of many new things & the future.

They were willing to try anything & I must admit,  I admire their gung-ho attitude – it created the right kind of atmosphere for the party! We had funny plastic specs for each lady, along with a tiara for everyone & a crown and sash for the bride-to-be.

& of course, no girl-y event can be complete without cupcakes!

We had so much fun while planning this “Night Class”! I think that the fact that we had less than 5 days to plan added to the rush. We’re big on DIY-ing (as you can probably tell) & I guess that really helped.

The last I heard, the ladies had a roaring time playing the games & snapping plenty of pictures!
